Which versions are compatible?
Webroot Internet Security Essentials: Only versions v6.1.0.138 and higher are compatible with the Windows 7 operating system.
Webroot Spy Sweeper and Webroot AntiVirus with Spy Sweeper: Only versions v6.1.0.128 and higher are compatible.
How do I upgrade to the latest version?
The fastest way to upgrade is:
- Open your Webroot security program
- Click Check for Updates
- Follow the steps shown to update to the latest version
If, for any reason, you are unable to check for Webroot product updates and prefer to download the latest version of your Webroot product online, simply follow the steps below:
- Go to www.webroot.com/updates/redownload/request?lang=uk
- Select the product you own from the drop-down list
- Enter your last name and email address
- Your download instructions with the latest version will be emailed to you.

Once registered, you will receive download instructions which point you to the latest Windows 7-compatible version.
Is Webroot Window Washer compatible with the Windows 7 operating system?
Window Washer is not currently compatible with the Windows 7 operating system. I'm running Windows Vista®, how does this affect me?
If you are running Windows Vista and do not expect to install Windows 7 in the immediate future, your Webroot software will continue to provide you with complete protection.
If you are planning to upgrade to Windows 7, be sure to upgrade your Webroot software first. If you do not update your software prior to installing Windows 7, you will receive a hard block from Windows 7 informing you that your software is not compatible and instructing you on how to update.
